Week #53 - May 19, 2014

Hey so this week was a little slower than last week but we still saw some cool things.

Tuesday we went street contacting and porting all day long, with not even a single phone number. It was rough, but every day can't be the best day ever.

Wednesday we met with Jean Pierre. It was a very good RDV in the beginning but at the end he flat out told us even if it is true he is not going to change churches. It was disappointing but now we can focus on people who are ready.   Later that night The Elder's from Cherbourg showed up to do an exchange. I was with Elder Oviatt and we decided we need to go porting. We had ask the bishop a couple weeks ago to pray and seek revelation as to what street we should go find people. So long story short in the matter of 45 minutes we had taught 2 lessons! It was awesome! One of them was this guy named Jean Jordan. He is a little older but he is still completely there in the head. We asked if he thought it was possible for God to call a Prophet in our days. He replied, "I would only hope he would!"   He's awesome !

Thursday we went into Rouen for Zone Conference. We gave a formation on what it means to be a successful missionary. Basically the point was  that we need to stop trying to be the best missionary (in comparison to others) and become a servant. At the end of the day a Servant of the Lord is happy even if he didn't see too much success because he knows he has done exactly what God called him to do.   I think it went pretty good.  I also had an interview with President. He started off by throwing me a trick question, " Are you the best Zone Leader in the mission?" I replied, "I don't want to sound prideful...but if I am not the best I am definitely #23." He said, " Your humble, I like that, here, have some chocolate." Love president Pozanski. Gonna be sad to see him go in a couple months.  On our way from the church to the train station in Rouen, another Elder looked at me and said jokingly, "What if we contacted that guy over there?" So i just said okay let's go and we went and we were able to teach him a short lesson before our train left! SO always be looking for an oppurtunity to share the gospel. And Thursday was my year mark!!!!!!! So crazy!!!

Friday and Saturday were also pretty good. Not much to write about those days though.

Sunday was cool because we were invited over to a less actives families house by the mother! She hasn't been to church in months but she wants to start making here way back and needed help. We shared Helaman 5:12 and talked about the things that can help us build our foundation on the rock of Christ. It was really good and this week she is coming with us to the Bishop's house for a Family Home Evening.

So yeah, that sums up the week!

Love you all!
