Dear Family & Friends,
Well our oven broke this week so it has been hard to think of stuff to make. I know alot of missionaries don't have an oven their whole mission so I shouldn't complain too much. I just miss making some quiche and pizza! Elder Webber made some sweet potato caserol but forgot the oven didn't work. We tried putting it in a pot and cooking it on the stove. It ended up being disgusting...
On Tuesday we were coming back from a teaching apointment in an apartment building complex and out of nowhere people started throwing eggs from the 12th floor. We ran for cover by some Muslims at a bus stop hoping to blend in.
This week we taught a man named Damba. He is from the Congo and is staying in government housing trying to find a good job. He speaks English and so I can actually contribute more in lessons. He doesn't have much of a Christian background but he has such a desire to learn about God and Jesus Christ. He wants to be baptized and has set a date for the 1st of September. He has been to Church twice now and loves it! The ward here is super good at going up and just talking with the investagators, really making them feel loved and welcomed.
There have been so many times this week when there were reasons not to work or not talk to as many people as possible. But Elder Webber and I both decied that those times don't matter. We still went out and worked as hard as possible and it has brought so much success. It's true that it's always within the last few moments of the day, when you feel like turning in early, but you keep working ... the Lord Blesses you.
Love you all,
Elder Sughroue
